Ed co-founded Health Labs in 2013, initially as a mechanism by which leading figures in the world of value-based healthcare could partner with forward thinking enterprises to address challenges at the cutting edge of regulation, reimbursement and public health investment, such as cancer, hepatitis, diabetes and antibacterial resistance. Since 2014, seeing the potential for digital to transform the health sector, H-Labs shifted its portfolio to disruptors in that space, leading to Ed being asked by PatientsLikeMe in 2015 to transform its patient activation platform into a sustainable business model. He was part of the leadership team that successfully took PLM to a $100m financing round with ICarbonX. Ed is now working with several enterprises building on the foundations that disruptors in consumer activation, value-based care and precision health have laid. Ed has previously been an SVP at GSK and member of its European Executive Team and worked in value-based health within Novartis Pharma AG in Basel. His career began within NHS Commissioning and Public Health. Ed has also been an equities analyst at Lehman Brothers, focusing on biotech, molecular biology platform, and medtech companies. He has also worked within Citigroup’s M&A division and has an MBA from London Business School.
